Why book us

One kitchen, three menus, zero compromise.

Most caterers make you choose a lane. We do not. A single Saucy Heart event can put slow smoked pulled pork on one end of the table and a pan of homemade lasagna on the other, with fresh cut fries and banana pudding in between.

That flexibility is the whole point. Your guest list is not one kind of eater, so your menu should not be one kind of food.

What we cater

Events we cook for every season.

01

Weddings and rehearsal dinners

Barn venues, church halls, backyards and reception rooms. We can plate it, serve it from a line, or set a family style spread down the middle of the table. Tell us what the room looks like and we will tell you what works in it.

Private parties and backyard cookouts

Smaller and louder. We bring the flat top, the smoker and the sauces, cook in front of your guests and hand plates over the counter. Nobody has to leave the party to check on the food.

How it works

Four steps from first message to full plates.

  1. 01

    Tell us about it

Date, headcount, venue and roughly what you are picturing. A rough idea is enough to start.

  2. 02

    Get a written quote

We come back with a menu and a price in writing. Ask for changes as many times as you need.

  3. 03

    Lock the date

Once you approve the quote we hold the date and start planning the prep schedule around it.

  4. 04

    We show up and cook

Early setup, clean station, food out hot. We clear our own mess before we leave.

Catering questions

The things people ask before booking.

Still unsure about something? Call or text 502 207 3173 and ask. No pressure and no sales script.

How much does catering cost?

It depends on three things: guest count, the menu you choose and the service style. A drop off of BBQ sandwiches prices very differently from a full service plated dinner. Send us those details and you get a written quote with the whole thing itemized before you commit to anything.

How many guests can you cater?

We regularly cook for small private parties and for large halls. Give us your headcount and your date and we will confirm what we can staff. If your event is bigger than what we can cover on that date, we will tell you honestly rather than stretch ourselves thin.

Do you travel outside Louisville?

Yes, for the right event. We are based in Louisville, Kentucky and travel to venues around the area. Send the venue address with your request and we will tell you whether it is in range and whether travel affects the quote.

Can you work around allergies and dietary needs?

Tell us in your request. We will let you know clearly what we can adjust and what we cannot, so nobody is guessing on the day. Since we cook Italian and barbecue side by side, there is usually a good option for most tables.

How far in advance should I book?

As early as you can, especially for weekend dates in spring and fall. If your event is coming up fast, call 502 207 3173 instead of emailing and we will check the calendar with you on the phone.

Do you provide plates, utensils and setup?

We bring our own cooking equipment, serving pans and utensils. Whether disposables for guests are included depends on the package you choose. It is listed on your quote so there is no confusion on the day.
